In-Wall TV Wire Concealment in Newport Beach
TV Mounting Atelier Newport Beach covers hiding TV wires inside the walls of Newport Beach homes — power and HDMI run behind a finished wall with rated parts, so that nothing hangs below a screen in a room where the wall is the feature — and how that work differs from a new outlet or a new circuit.

What belongs inside a wall, and what does not
| Item | Inside the wall? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Plain extension cord or TV power cord | Never | Not rated for in-wall use |
| In-wall rated power relocation kit | Yes | Inlet behind the TV, outlet at the cabinet |
| CL3-rated HDMI or low-voltage cable | Yes | Rated for in-wall runs |
| New outlet or circuit | By an electrician | Separate from the mounting |
How an in-wall kit is installed
The installer opens two small holes, one behind the TV and one near the cabinet. A pull string and a flexible rod guide the cable through the stud bay, and fire blocking between studs is worked around where possible; any opening through it is sealed again. The cable is fixed at both ends and the plates are fastened with the holes made as small as the parts allow.
- Top plate: a recessed box with the inlet behind the TV.
- Bottom plate: an outlet or low-voltage plate near the console.
- Pull path: the bay is checked for insulation, wiring and blocking first.
What the numbers show
- Upper recessed box A recessed box behind the TV holds the receptacle the TV plugs into.
- In-wall rated cable Rated cable runs between the boxes inside the stud bay.
- Lower inlet box A recessed box near the floor takes power from a short cord to an existing outlet.
- Signal pass-through A brush-covered opening lets HDMI cables pass through the same bay.
- Stud bay The bay between two studs is the protected route for the cable.
Finished walls, patches and paint
On a plain painted wall, small holes are patched with compound and touched up from the owner's paint. On stone, tile or a wall with a panel finish, in-wall runs are usually not an option, and a raceway or a cable chase is used instead.
In-Wall Wire Concealment — common questions
How much does hiding the wires cost in Newport Beach?
About $115–$195 on top of the base range in 2026, so roughly $244–$374 for a 32–49 inch TV on drywall.
Is it legal to run a power cord inside a wall?
No standard power cord belongs inside a wall; only in-wall rated kits do, and a new outlet is electrical work for an electrician.
